On a side note, Layne had three therapists over on Thursday for a visit, and the one who represents the school for the blind brought us this amazing kindergarten reading library that the School for the Deaf and Blind was just going to get rid of. Koria and Kimball read all of the book that day, and I worked with them to separate all of the magnetic letters to spell out sentences on magnetic boards that also came with the set. It will be a great learning resource this summer. They are doing great with their reading and comprehension skills.
Busy week. Is it ever any different? In between all of this, we've been doing more yard work. I'll include some more shots from around the yard a bit later, but these pictures are mostly from Thursday night's game. I did get around to doing Kor's hair, thank goodness. Luke and Layne were not about to sit it out in the car, so about two minutes into the game, I braved taking them out to sit on the sidelines. Luke just walked around, clapping whenever anybody else did. Layne was having a great time pulling up grass and trying to eat it. Nothing like a little extra fiber in the diet to make a Thursday night great! I made chocolate chip cookies for the team earlier in the day for a treat afterward. The kids got some great hits and did a wonderful job. It's great to have an atmosphere that's not about competition, but all about teaching the kids and having a fun time.
Koria looks like she means business - I love the one of her folding her arms - she is ready to play ball!
