Wed, March 9th

Early on Wednesday morning, we headed over to Disney Land for our first full day of adventure and exploring. The kids were lucky enough to see such characters as Darth Vader, Storm troopers, Jedi masters, tinkerbell, have breakfast in bed (cheerios, mind you, but for an 18-month-old, it rocks), see Sleeping Beauty's castle, fly like Peter Pan and Wendy, visit Mickey's Toontown, and a whole lot more. Here's a few pics from the day. More to come in the next post.

The highlight for Jared and I was definitely when K&K were selected to be in the Jedi Training Academy, or padawans. Here's just a couple pictures of the event. They both did great, but Koria, especially, was scared to death when Darth Vader and Darth Maul arose from the ground in clouds of smoke to challenge the young padawans and their new skills. Both had to challenge Darth Maul, and Kimball was eager to fight them all ... if it would have been allowed. The Jedis had to simmer his ambitions and hold him back from attacking Darth Vader at one point. Awesome. They were the first two picked to be part of the show. Could have been them jumping up and down wildly on the front row to be selected.

Koria particularly enjoyed meeting a couple of fairies, Tinkerbell in particular. I guess it was worth the 45 minute wait in line for her to have the experience. Miss Outgoing turned shy though, and I didn't know if she enjoyed it or not until after the fact and she announced to me that it was her favorite part of our trip to Disneyland.

Here's that breakfast in bed that I was talking about. Fitting two babies, two almost five-year-olds, and two adults in a hotel room with two full-size beds is .... interesting. Didn't sleep so much. Oh well. I have titled this family vacation "The Trip To Long-Term Exhaustion" instead of our trip to Disneyland and the California coast.

  1. I am so excited that you got to see Tinkerbell Koria - you are very lucky indeed. and then to be the first ones picked for jedi training . . . well, a vacation just can't get any better than that!

  2. Tinkerbell seems like a nice .person. I'm glad you got to meet her. Best thing about a vacation is coming home to your own bed.
